Get Up & Go: Friday, July 4 FOURTH OF JULY BREAKFAST: Boy Scouts from Troop 7 will host their annual Fourth of July breakfast of pancakes and sausage from 7 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Central Point Grange Hall, 436 E. Pine St., Central Point. There also will be a silent auction of goods and services donated by local businesses. Cost is a suggested donation of $5, $3 for kids 12 and younger, $15 for a family of four. Cost is a suggested donation of $5, $3 for kids 12 and younger, $15 for a family of four. u IRENE HOLLENBECK MEMORIAL WILDFLOWER SHOW: The Siskiyou Chapter of the Native Plant Society of Oregon will host its annual wildflower show, which features more than 300 species of flowers from the Cascade and Siskiyou mountain ranges and the valleys in between, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday at Ashland Community Center, 59 Winburn Way, Ashland. Free. Call 541-661-3492. u ASHLAND CITY BAND: The community band, directed by Don Bieghler, will celebrate Independence Day with songs for each branch of the U.S. military at 12:30 p.m. in the Butler Band Shell in Ashland's Lithia Park. There also will be a reading of "The Gettysburg Address" by Bob Miner, with band accompaniment, and music for Ashland's sister city, Guanajuato, Mexico. Free. Call 541-245-9494. u RED, WHITE AND BOOM: The annual fireworks extravaganza in Central Point will kick off with a performance by Medford rock band The Seaons at 6:30 p.m. Presentations by the city of Central Point and the Chamber of Medford/Jackson County will follow at 8:15. Nashville country musicians Keith Anderson and Brian McComas will perform at 8:25 p.m. Starting at 9:30 p.m., there will be tributes to veterans of various wars. The Young Marines of Southern Oregon will present the colors, and Central Point Police Officer Brian Day will sing the National Anthem. The "Boom" will start at 10 p.m. and feature 30 minutes of fireworks set to patriot music presented by 95.7 KBOY and Q100.3. McComas and Anderson will close the event with an encore performance at 10:30 p.m. u GREEN SHOW: The Oregon Shakespeare Festival's season of free, family-friendly, multicultural Green Show performances show at 6:45 p.m. Tuesdays through Sundays in the Allen Elizabethan Theatre courtyard, 15 S. Pioneer St., Ashland. Today's show will feature Sue Carney Presents Elizabethan Music and Dance: Pipe & Bowl Morris. u SIDE POCKET: Guitarist Leonard Griffie and singer and drummer Billy Rock will play old-school blues from 7 to 9 p.m. at 2Hawk Winery, 2335 N. Phoenix Road, Medford. Free. Call 541-779-9463. u AMERICAN BAND COLLEGE DIRECTORS' BAND: Two 100-member bands made up of band directors from schools throughout the country will present its "Star Spangled Spectacular," featuring a salute to composer Irving Berlin along with show tunes and patriotic music, at 8 p.m. at Ashland High School football stadium. Tickets cost $19, $15 for ages 62 and older, and free for kids 11 and younger. Tickets can be purchased at www.bandworld.org, at Cripple Creek Music in downtown Ashland or at the gate on Morse Avenue, between Siskiyou Boulevard and East Main Street.
