Patridge won't be U.S. attorney State Rep. Rob Patridge is out of the running for Oregon's new U.S. attorney under the Bush administration. Patridge said Friday he had received a call from the White House saying he was no longer under consideration for the job. "I was honored to even be considered," Patridge said. "I think I brought a lot to the table and so did the other candidates." Others under consideration are Kevin Mannix, a former state representative and the GOP candidate last November for Oregon attorney general; Karin Immergut, a Multnomah County deputy district attorney; and Michael Mosman, a longtime assistant U.S. attorney for Oregon. Patridge, who was a member of the Medford City Council before being elected to the state Legislature in 1998, served as a deputy district attorney in Jackson County for three years. He was re-elected in November to House District 50 and is a corporate attorney for Rogue Valley Manor. In addition to the U.S. attorney, there are 44 assistant U.S. attorneys in Oregon who are based in Portland, Eugene and Medford. Their principal job is to prosecute federal crimes.
