On Jan. 9, Crime Stoppers of Southern Oregon and the Mail Tribune profiled convicted felon Rodney Lee Tester, who turns 32 on March 11. Tester remains on the lam and a statewide felony warrant has been issued for his arrest by the Medford Police Department. On Feb. 10, Tester used a false identity to obtain credit and purchase two new yellow Suzuki Quads and a trailer from a Suzuki dealer in Grants Pass. He was pulling the trailer with a rented 2005 Ford Expedition, also obtained fraudulently. He abandoned the Expedition in Jacksonville on Feb. 19. His current vehicle is unknown. In late December, a Medford resident discovered her debit card and checks stolen after she hired three local men to unload a moving truck. Purchases were made on the stolen card a few hours later at two local businesses and the victim was notified by her bank of suspicious activity on the account. Tester, one of the moving crew, was positively identified from video surveillance from the store. Tester is a white male adult, 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighing approximately 190 pounds with dark blond or light brown hair and brown eyes. Tester has the letters "RCE" tattooed in the web of his left hand. He may be wearing glasses, his hair may be longer than pictured here, and it may be dyed red in an attempt to disguise himself. He uses an alias of Rodney Lee Herndon but is more likely using the name from a victim of identity theft. Tester has been identified as a suspect in multiple cases of fraud and theft, here in Oregon and California but it is believed that he is still in our area.
