Forbes, Sota belt homers as TJs win Coming off a 6-0 win on Thursday in which the pitching staff allowed only one hit, the Southern Oregon Timberjacks brought out the wood Friday for a 20-10 victory over the Boise Hawks. The Timberjacks used an eight-run fourth inning to break open a close game. Matt Forbes and Jorge Soto each blasted their second home runs of the season, while Matt Howe and Kirk Asche delivered with their first homers. Asche went 3-for-6 with a team-high five RBIs, while Forbes pitched in with four hits in six trips to the plate. Gerald Laird also picked up four hits for Southern Oregon, which totaled 20 hits on the night. The win gives Southern Oregon a season mark of 7-1 and completes the five-game set with Boise. The Timberjacks won four out of the five games played between the two teams. Southern Oregon now embarks on a five-game series at Everett, Wash., starting today.
