She was born May 22, 1949 in Eureka, Calif. to Dallas and Mary Watson. Carol Jean was a beloved wife, daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother, and left us way too soon. Carol Jean married Tod Hale July 26, 1980 in Eagle Point, Ore. She worked for CP National & Central Point Beauty Salon. These are a few memories of her life's journey: She loved music and playing the saxophone, organ, and singing. Carol loved being outside in her vegetable and flower gardens. She liked camping, traveling, and rock hunting. Carol was a wonderful cook and loved to host tea parties for lifetime friends and family. She also enjoyed quilting, and teaching her granddaughter embroidering. A proud part-Cherokee native, Carol carried the name, "Full Moon Rising." Most of all, Carol was a very involved and devoted grandmother to her beloved grandchildren. She and her husband, Tod earned their way as owners of their own Peterbilt semi truck and trailer. They often took extended trips to the east coast but generally cruised the west coast to be closer to their home. They contracted with Interstate Distributors, Tacoma, Wash., for 36 years, and she assisted in the driving when needed. When Tod retired, they created new adventures by going camping around the Northwest. Carol Jean enjoyed going to her church, Heritage Christian Fellowship, and read and wrote in her Bible all the time. She always thought of others first. Carol was a true believer to the very last. She was not afraid and was a pillar of faith to all who knew her. Carol is survived by her husband, Tod; mother, Mary Davis; brother, Gale Watson; sisters, Joyce Watson and Janet Balko (Cedar Earth Woman - Cherokee heritage); daughters, Angela Zacher, Marne Hale, and Stacey McKenzie; grandchildren, Brandon Zacher, Chelsea Zacher, Axel Peone, Sydney Astell, Emma Pruitt, Mason Pruitt, and Trista McConnell; numerous nieces and nephews; and a very special former son-in-law, Bryan Zacher of Culver, Ore. She was preceded in death by her father, Dallas Watson and stepfather, Charles Breeding. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 29, 2016 at Conger-Morris Central Point Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Pastor Jeff Hensley will officiate at both services. Arrangements are by Conger-Morris Central Point. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Oregon Health & Science University Knight Cancer Institute/Hospital in Portland, Ore. Carol always had a smile and a hug for everyone, even during the last days in the hospital. She is loved by many and will be missed by all. Sleep well, "Our Pink Angel."
