Sunday’s meet was the last of three district meets. The team that accumulates the most points combined over all three events earns the district title. Small schools are teams with seven or fewer riders; medium schools are 8-15 riders; and large schools have 15 or more riders. Phoenix beat out four other teams in the small-school division. Crater was the large-school district champion and Grants Pass claimed the medium-school title. Phoenix competitors qualifying for the state meet in Central Point May 19-22 were: Brittiany Todd (silver medal in trials); Yogi Davis (silver in breakaway and gold in steer daubing); Erin Moss (bronze in saddle and hunt seat); and Leslie Davenport (qualified in poles and figure eight).
