Mt. Bachelor announced late Tuesday it will alter its schedule for Thanksgiving weekend because of soft and saturated snow conditions. Additional rain and wind were expected Wednesday afternoon through Thursday evening. The Sunshine Accelerator lift and terrain park are scheduled to open Wednesday, but the Pine Marten and Skyliner lifts will remain closed. The Nordic Center also will be closed, according to a Mt. Bachelor release. On Thursday, because of rain and strong wind in the forecast, the entire resort and all services will be closed, the release said. On Friday, daily operations are scheduled to resume, assuming improvement in the weather and snow conditions, the release said. The forecast calls for rain to change to snow by Friday morning with moderate accumulations through the weekend. Beginning Saturday, the resort expects normal operations with three or four chairlifts, the Nordic Center and the Snowblast Tubing Park open, assuming the next storm brings cooler temperatures as predicted.
