Mail Tribune / Bob Pennell City Hall landscaping finished Three years after City Hall underwent seismic retrofitting that required digging up the building’s flora, $445,000 worth of landscaping encircling City Hall is finished. The one-acre project, designed by Galbraith & Associates of Medford, cost the city $245,000 for irrigation, pavers, trees, shrubs and grasses. Of that amount, $45,000 came from a grant from the Medford Water Commission for a low- water-use design. Plans for a water feature or fountain outside the front entry have been tabled because the project would be too expensive, according to Brian Sjothun, parks and recreation director. The Medford Urban Renewal Agency spent $200,000 on sidewalks, street lamps, a retaining wall and street trees on three sides of the block for the project.
