Photo by Andy Atkinson Medford bicycle race draws best young racers in the West By DANI DODGE For 166 junior bike racers and their families, Monday was a day of pride as well as broken hearts. Devon Hoff-Weekes, 16, of Oakland got both. The cyclist pulled out ahead of the pack after the first lap of the 15/16-year-old criterium race. While most cyclists ride in the pack using the aerodynamics of the group to save their strength for a sprint at the end, Hoff-Weekes maintained a significant lead throughout the race. (More...)
