Harrington duo leads OGA field EAGLE POINT � The Harrington family made a strong showing Monday in the first round of the 91st Oregon Amateur Golf Championship at the Eagle Point Golf Club. Bob Harrington made three birdies with no bogeys for a 3-under par 69. Bob�s son, Scott, carded an even par 72 to finish the first day tied with Carl Johnson, Riverside G&CC, and Tony Battistella, Widgi Creek, for the second best score. Roseburg�s Brodie Jordan shot a two-over 74 as did Rogue Valley CC�s Tommy Smith. Rogue Valley�s Glen Clark and David Schoenmann shot a 77 and 78, respectively. Other Rogue Valley CC competitors were John Dunkin (78), Robert Cox (78), Kevin Klabunde (83) and Justin Wise (84). Jeff Williams (Eagle Point) finished with a 78 while Grants Pass� Ryan Schafer shot a 79. Reames Reames G&CC�s Mark Paulsen carded an 11-over 83. On the women�s side, six-time champion, Marcia Fisher of Willamette Valley CC shot an opening round of one-under par 71. Pleasant Valley GC�s Allison Hanna is second with a one-over par 73. North Medford High�s Tai Kinney carded a five-over par 77 after rounds of 41 and 36. Carmen Akins, Rogue Valley CC, finished with a 91 while Mickey Laney-Jarvis, Grants Pass GC, shot a 93.
