November 06. 2014 11:33AM Orientation set for new ScienceWorks volunteers Anyone who wants to volunteer at Ashland's ScienceWorks Museum is invited to a two-day orientation from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 8 and 9, at the museum, 1500 E. Main St., Ashland. The 13-hour training, which is required for all volunteers, covers working with visitors, understanding exhibits, and learning about inquiry-based science and the hands-on museum's philosophy. The training includes a free lunch both days. Volunteers help with visiting school groups, present hands-on activities, facilitate visitors’ experiences with the exhibits, help at special events, and work behind the scenes in the office and exhibit shop.
