The burglaries were reported Sunday. Police responded to the first, located in the 2800 block of Juanipero Way in southeast Medford, at 9:30 a.m., according to Sgt. Tom Ianieri. Investigators found burglars had likely entered the home through an unlocked side door. Property taken from the home included a black HP laptop computer, messenger bag, men's wallet, a Remington 700 rifle, two watches and binoculars. The value of the stolen property amounted to more than $2,000. Ianieri said the home was broken into Sunday morning after the resident had left for work. He returned hours later to discover the break-in. The second burglary was reported at 3:18 p.m. in the 1800 block of South Peach Street. Suspects reportedly broke into the garage through a side door and made off with thousands of dollars in music equipment. The stolen property included guitars, amps, mixing equipment and microphones. Investigators believe the burglary took place sometime between 11 p.m. Saturday and 9:30 a.m. Sunday. No dollar value was reported. None of the property has since been recovered, and no suspects have been identified. Anyone with information about either case is asked to call Medford police at 541-770-4784. "It's the season for theft, folks. Make sure you take extra precautions to lock up your home," a Medford police Facebook post reads.
