The whole country watched and prayed as the rescue teams sought to get her out in time, which they did. Could you supply her name and let us know how she is and where she currently lives? Jessica McClure became famous as "Baby Jessica" at 18 months after getting herself trapped in a well in Midland, Texas, in October 1987. According to Wikipedia.com, rescuers worked for 58 hours to free her from an 8-inch pipe. The story became world-famous — sometimes criticized as a media circus. Of course it became the subject of a TV movie: 1989’s "Everybody’s Baby: The Rescue of Jessica McClure." As for what McClure’s up to now, the latest we’ve been able to find is that she graduated from Midland’s Greenwood High School in May 2004. The Midland Reporter-Telegram reported that McClure clutched a Gerber daisy as she stepped forth to accept her diploma, but nothing in the commencement ceremony distinguished her from her 112 senior classmates, which is apparently how she wants it.
