Bicyclist hurt when hit by truck A resident of the Veterans Affairs Domiciliary remained in critical condition Wednesday after his bicycle was struck by a truck trailer in White City. Oregon State Police identified the victim Wednesday as Earl Gossett, 78, who was taken to Providence Medford Medical Center for treatment of a dislocated hip and fractured left leg. He was in the hospital's critical care unit after surgery. Police said the accident occurred about 4:15 p.m. Monday, when a 1996 Freightliner tanker-trailer driven by William Randolph Uding, 47, of Portland, was turning left from Highway 62 onto Avenue G in White City. Gossett was on a mountain bicycle crossing Avenue G northbound. Police said witnesses told them the truck had the green light when the bicycle and trailer collided.
