New single by Jon Galfano May 08, 2009 12:00 AM A A "Journey Homeward," acoustic gutarist Jon Galfano's new single, can be heard at his Web site, jongalfano.com. along with cuts from his recent CD, "Five Crowns." Galfano uses various guitars - acoustics, electrics, 12-strings - to create rich solo instrumentals with a full band sound. "Five Crowns" and Galfano's other guitar-based CDs, "Cascadia" and "Simple Man," follow four consecutive keyboard-based albums. Galfano is originally from Southern Wisconsin, where he took his first piano lesson at 7 and experienced the influence of the Beatles on American television in 1964. He performed as a lead guitarist for rock acts based in the mid-West and opened shows for bands such as Foghat, Styx, Grass Roots and Doctor Hook. Now Galfano makes his home in the Rogue Valley.
