Jordan Monroe covered the course at Dutcher Creek Golf Course in 18 minutes, 56.66 seconds to outdistance Hidden Valley junior Zaruba Anderson, who finished in 19:26.11. North Medford sophomore Clare Ebert was third (19:31.75). The Comet girls, however, were unable to field a full contingent of five runners so weren’t in the running for the team title, which went to Grants Pass in a tight battle with North Medford and South Medford. The Cavers scored 39 points to edge the Black Tornado (42) and Panthers (43). Crater’s girls still finished with three of the top eight times thanks to the efforts of freshmen Elezebeth Allen (seventh, 20:06.15) and Maggie Lacey (eighth, 20:06.72). A familiar feat took place on the boys side, with Crater posting the three top times to win going away with 18 points. Andy Monroe took the crown in 16:17.69, but sophomore Derek Tripp (16:18.12) and senior Walter Vail (16:18.52) were right on his heels. Crater senior Tanner Shipley placed fifth (16:33.75) and freshman Jantz Tostenson was seventh (16:40.96) in the dominant performance.
