Crater wrestler Christensen signs with SOU By Mail Tribune staff Feb 19, 2021 11:02 AM A A Crater High senior Kabb Christensen signed a letter Thursday to wrestle for Southern Oregon University. Christensen placed fourth at 160 pounds in the Class 5A state championships last February as a junior, falling in the finals to repeat champion James Rowley of Crescent Valley. To get to the finals, Christensen pinned Corvallis’ Izaak Worsch in the semifinals. Christensen was the No. 3 seed. He helped the Comets to second place in the Midwestern League championships, winning the title by pinning North Bend’s Liam Buskerud in 1:24. Christensen will compete for a Raiders team currently on pause because of COVID-19. SOU is under the direction of coach Joel Gibson, having taken over for 2020-21 following the retirement of Mike Ritchey.
