Ashland event will help people prepare for emergencies Oct 09, 2014 12:00 AM A A Ashland Fire and Rescue's second annual emergency preparedness event will be held Saturday, Nov. 1, at the Historic Ashland Armory, 208 Oak St. The day will consist of two 3-hour workshops, held 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. Attendees will learn about emergency preparedness and see presentations on earthquakes, fires, floods and other weather-related emergencies. Participants will take home an emergency kit with supplies that include water, a first-aid kit, food bars, flashlight, towelettes and a survival blanket. Registration costs $10 per person.
