Dorothy Louise McGrew Wilson MailTribune.com Writer Posted Sep. 11, 2014 @ 2:00 am Posted Sep. 11, 2014 @ 2:00 am » Social News Born on March 19, 1921 in Valley View, Texas Died on September 9, 2014 in Medford, Oregon In the early morning hours of September 9, a beautiful reunion took place at Heaven's Gate. Dorothy (Momma Dot) went home to be with loved ones who had already made this journey. Dorothy is survived by her loving husband, Bill, sons, daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, along with a host of dear and lifelong friends. During her amazing life, Dorothy relocated from Texas to California. During World War II, she worked at a factory making airplanes in support of the war effort. She continued working in the aircraft industry and was involved in the Apollo Space Program. Momma Dot went on to work in the health care industry and nursing homes until she retired. A kinder spirit is seldom seen on this earth. Aside from her family and friends, she loved adventure, travel, and the Christian faith. She traveled across the Unites States, Europe, and the Middle East. She was involved in numerous charities, including Exodus, a Christian-based charity that supports Israel by providing food, child care, clothing, and most of all love to those in need. She also helped in the building of local churches and was a driving force in the Gideon's. After relocating to Medford, she met and married Pink McGrew, a local lumberjack and driving force in the development and growth of Southern Oregon. His death was devastating, but years later, the hole in her heart was filled by her husband, Bill Wilson. They enjoyed many happy times and years together. Together, Bill and Dorothy continued their support of Israel, various charities, churches, and religious organizations. On September 9, in the early morning hours, GOD smiled. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 13, 2014 at the Perl Funeral Chapel, located at Siskiyou Memorial Park, 2100 Siskiyou Blvd. Medford, Ore. A viewing will be held at the same location between 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday. September 12, 2014 for those wanting to reflect on the loss of this beautiful spirit.
