Missing teenager died beside road Three will face alcohol charges A 14-year-old boy who was missing from Dorris, Calif., since Friday was found dead Thursday afternoon, and three people have been arrested in the case. Travis Burke was found just off Dorris-Brownell Road in Dorris, about one-half mile south of where he was last seen walking along Highway 97, according to the Siskiyou County Sheriff's Office. He was intoxicated when he was last seen. A sheriff's department search dog team found the body around 1:30 p.m. not far from U.S. 97. Three residents of Dorris were booked into the Siskiyou County Jail Thursday on charges of involuntary manslaughter, felony child endangerment, and furnishing alcohol to a minor. Police arrested Esperanza Iva Saucedo and her boyfriend, Terry Dean Chadwell, both 35; and Nicholas Alejandro Hernandez, 19. All three were lodged in the jail on $25,000 bail. The three are accused of furnishing alcohol to Burke at Saucedo's and Chadwell's residence Friday night. Charges are pending against a fourth adult who was present at the residence. Saucedo's 14-year-old son was taken into protective custody. Burke lived with his mother and stepfather, Mary and Jeff Koger, in a rural area about seven miles south of Dorris near Macdoel. Burke's parents dropped him off at school Friday morning with the understanding he would spend the weekend at a friend's house and play in a basketball tournament on Friday and Saturday nights. But Burke spent Friday evening at a house party where teenagers were provided alcohol by adults, sheriff's deputies said. It wasn't until Saturday night that Burke's parents learned he had been missing since late Friday. They immediately called the sheriff's department, which launched a search. An autopsy is pending.
