The foundation, celebrating a decade in the Rogue Valley, raised more than $320,000 during its 11th annual auction in August. Proceeds from that event will be disbursed to organizations that meet the application deadline, which is Friday. The Hearts & Vines Foundation will accept applications from community-based youth and family programs that focus on the elimination of domestic violence through education, prevention and intervention. Since its inception in 1994, the foundation has awarded more than $850,000 to local groups. One of its primary beneficiaries is the Dunn House, Jackson County’s only shelter for battered women and children, which is run by Community Works. The Hearts & Vines gala gourmet dinner, which includes a silent auction, has become a premier social event in the Rogue Valley. Other beneficiaries have included the Asante Health System Domestic Violence Program, CASA of Jackson County, the Children’s Advocacy Center, the Domestic Violence Foundation, the Central Point School District’s Focus on Families, Project Dove, the Safe Place and the Medford Salvation Army.
