Cuarteto Latinoamericano: String quartet Cuarteto Latinoamericano will perform at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 26, in the Music Recital Hall, 405 S. Mountain Ave., on the Southern Oregon University campus in Ashland. Founded in Mexico in 1982, Cuarteto Latinoamericano is a leader of Latin American music for string quartet. Look for a program of music by Brouwer, Mignone and Villa-Lobos. Saturday, Jan. 27 Wedding Show: The Southern Oregon Wedding show will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 27-28, at the Medford Armory, 1701 S. Pacific Highway. Look for a bridal fashion show, cake sampling, a groom’s lounge, chances to win prizes and more. Every bride attending will receive a free bridal planner, provided by Rosebud Multimedia, and the first 50 brides in the door each day will also receive a free tote bag. Waggin' Tales Used Book Sale: Friends of the Animal Shelter (FOTAS ) "Pay What You Want" for books fundraiser will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan.27 , and noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 28, at Jackson County Animal Services, 5595 S. Harry Potter Club: A six-session Harry Potter Club will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturdays from Jan. 20 through Feb. 24, for youths 5 and older at the Central Point Library, 116 S. Piano Recital: Alexander Tutunov, Christine Eggert and Thor Polson, joined by Joyce Stevens of Jacksonville, Michele Alspach, Pat Daly and Anthony Boc, will present a program of classical favorites and jazz at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, in the Sjolund Auditorium at North Medford High School, 1900 N. Keene Way Drive. Look for works by Franz Liszt, Frederic Chopin, Maurice Ravel, Astor Piazzolla and others, along with Polson's arrangements of pieces by Herbie Hancock, Thelonious Monk and Bill Evans. The show is sponsored by the Rogue Valley chapter of the Oregon Music Teachers Association. Admission is by donation, and all proceeds will be put toward scholarships for Rogue Valley music students. Sunday, Jan. 28 Film Festival: Equus International "On the Trail" Film Tour  will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 28, at Ashland High School's Mountain Avenue Theater. The festival will feature winning films from the Equus International Film Festival, "We Are All Here to Heal Together" and "The Horses of the Last Forbidden Kingdom." Doors open at 1:30 p.m.. Also look for refreshments and a silent auction.
