The most recent USA gun-related annual children deaths and injuries is 3,000 and 7,000 respectively. If President Obama is truly being honest with himself about his concern for all children, why is he not showing his emotional distress and sorrow for the 1 million children murdered by abortion annually? It is obvious, from his double standard on life, this is all about politics and supporting the liberal ideology. If this was not the situation, then President Obama would be condemning the murder of children by abortion and advocating for making abortions illegal except for vital health situations. With these double standards in politics and personal convictions, no one should be surprised why the USA is so divided today. Marty Koval Eagle Point Silence is consent Thanks to Priscilla Vanderlip for "Different narratives," Jan. 15. Her correct, honest statement: "None of these things makes us safer, healthier, happier, or wealthier. They make us dependent on the government." However, don't dare tell that to either a depraved Democrat or reprobate Republican! Both are socialists who embrace the almighty "LBJ/KGB" nanny state with entitlements, dependency, victimhood, and an intrusive welfare state mentality. Anti-gunners can likewise put their money where their mouth is with this posted premises sign bearing this caption: "We Have No Firearms In This House: Feel free to take our property, breach the premises, and murder, kill, and rape the occupants of this dwelling with impunity." Signed, self righteous, smug, anti-gun activist. Ben Carson's April 1, 2014 online article: "Blacks must reject purveyors of dependency and victimhood" and "Liberty in the the news for Friday, January 15th: Idaho Governor Signs Emergency legislation nullifying all future federal gun laws," and "How Persecution of Christians Really Began in the U.S.” via the Constitution Party of Oregon at www.constitutionpartyoregon.net . exposes this national shameful disgrace! If the American majority public remains silent, ignorant, and apathetic, the secular progressives (treasonous socialists) win! Silence is consent. James A. Farmer Ashland Those darn rumors I knew in my heart they weren't true. Seems like I was hearing them everywhere. Kinda ticked me off. So I checked. Nope. Clean as a whistle. Not part of the others who closed up. Rather than listen to others I checked it out myself. Lo and behold, it was awesome. Not only was I astonished by the cleanliness all around, the food was great. I'm talking about the Medford Chipotle. I was one of only few there on a Monday night. Yes, I know a worker there. I was willing to ignore the rumors and try it anyway. So should everyone. Be as happy and impressed as I am. I know and I'm going back again and again.
