Pauline Clara Medina, 90, of Central Point, Ore., passed away peacefully March 17, 2016 surrounded by family at Providence Medical Center. She was born July 18, 1925 to Alfred and Louisa Nelmes in Blaenavon, Wales, United Kingdom. Pauline was raised in a large family with 14 siblings and attended school in Coventry, England.{br class="hardreturn" /} Pauline met her husband, Joaquin Medina Sr. and they were married July 13, 1945 in Coventry. She came to America as a “war bride” following World War II. Together, they owned and operated Medina Dairy in Eagle Point.{br class="hardreturn" /} Pauline was a past president of St. Anthony's Festa, a member of the Catholic Daughters, an auxiliary member of the Legion of Mary, a volunteer for the St. Vincent de Paul Society, and a faithful parishioner of Shepherd of the Valley Catholic Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.{br class="hardreturn" /} She loved to travel, but even more, she loved being surrounded by her family. She enjoyed family get-togethers and card parties and was known for her generous spirit, always making sure no one ever went away hungry. In later years, Pauline was home-bound and enjoyed watching EWTN Catholic channel. She continued to be a person of prayer and was devoted to the recitation of the Rosary.{br class="hardreturn" /} Pauline is survived by her sons, Paul, Michael, Joaquin, and Manuel of Central Point, Ore., Vincent of Eagle Point, Ore., and James of Kerby; her daughters, Florinda Karcich of Central Point, Ore., and Patricia Burket of Ruch, Ore.; her sister, Mary Putnam of England; 36 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joaquin Medina Sr.; an infant son, Roger; and great-grandson, Sheldyn Conner.{br class="hardreturn" /} A viewing and a recitation of the Rosary was held at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at Conger-Morris, Central Point Chapel. Interment will take place at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at Eagle Point National Cemetery.{br class="hardreturn" /} The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at Shepherd of the Valley Catholic Church, 600 Beebe Rd., Central Point, Ore. A memorial reception will follow the Mass.{br class="hardreturn" /} In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to St. Vincent DePaul in Medford, Ore.{br class="hardreturn" /} “Eternal rest grant, and unto her, O Lord, let the perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace,. Amen.” {br class="hardreturn" /}
