CRIME Medford Little Feet Children's Shoes burglarized in downtown Comment By Ryan Pfeil Mail Tribune MailTribune.com By Ryan Pfeil Mail Tribune Posted Mar. 12, 2015 at 3:00 PM Updated Mar 12, 2015 at 5:44 PM By Ryan Pfeil Mail Tribune Posted Mar. 12, 2015 at 3:00 PM Updated Mar 12, 2015 at 5:44 PM » Social News Burglars used a crowbar to break through the front door and steal less than $200 from a children's shoe store in downtown Medford sometime between Wednesday night and Thursday morning. The front door of Little Feet Children's Shoes, 24 N. Bartlett St., was found damaged by a store employee Thursday morning, owner Darcie Maassen said. It's the first time the store has seen a burglary since it opened in 2006. "They just smashed it up, kind of destroyed some equipment," Maassen said of the pilfered cash register. No other property was stolen from the store. Maassen estimates the loss at about $1,000, including costs to repair the door and frame and the stolen money. She's planning for heightened security, including added video surveillance. "We'll be implementing all kinds of different security measures, for sure," Maassen said. Medford police reported two additional burglaries with similar break-in techniques this week. Detective Sgt. Brent Mak said suspects attempted to pry open a door at the Trust Salon & Day Spa, 824 E. Jackson St.,  on Tuesday, but failed and only left some pry marks behind on a door. Another burglary was reported the following day at the Silver Dragon restaurant, 1011 Spring St., with a door pried open. Only "minor" items were taken during the incident, Mak said, though he declined to elaborate. All three burglaries remain under investigation. Police said it's too early to know whether they are linked. Anyone with information is asked to contact Medford police at 541-770-4784.
