Melvin Seals and JGB at Applegate Lodge Apr 21, 2014 12:00 AM A A Singer and organ player Melvin Seals and JGB — drummer Pete Lavezzoli, guitarist Dave Hebert, bassist John-Paul McLean and back-up singers Shirley Starks and Cheryl Rucker — serve up a mix of blues, funk, rock and jazz with a little R&B and gospel thrown in. Seals played organ and keyboard as a member of the Jerry Garcia Band for 18 years, helping to pioneer and define jam band music. Melvin Seals and JGB will play at 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, at the Applegate Lodge, 15100 Highway 238, Applegate. Tickets cost $25 in advance or $30 at the door.
