Crash kills Medford teenager An accused drunken driver made an illegal left turn on a busy Medford residential street Monday, triggering a two-car wreck that killed one teenager and seriously hurt two others in a small compact car, police said. Traci Elizabeth Tedaldi, 17, of Medford, died at Providence Medford Medical Center from injuries she suffered in the 3:49 p.m. accident on Poplar Drive south of the Poplar Square shopping complex. Medford police arrested Anthony Carlisi, 19, of 2385 Table Rock Road, No. 39, Medford, on charges of criminally negligent homicide and driving under the influence of intoxicants. Carlisi was lodged at the Jackson County Jail, where he was being held Monday night on $54,000 bail. Tedaldi was one of two passengers in a 1980 Plymouth Champ driven by Jonathan Ellis, 19, who lives on the 2300 block of Table Rock Road in Medford. Ellis was driving south on Poplar Drive past the maze of apartment complexes when his car was approached by Carlisi's northbound 1975 GMC pickup, according to the Medford Police Department. Carlisi allegedly turned left to cross the southbound lanes to enter the complex's parking lot, but his truck crossed the path of Ellis' car, Medford police Sgt. Bob Sergi said. Tedaldi was sitting in the right front passenger seat, and all three teens in Ellis' car were wearing their seat belts, Sergi said. Ellis suffered several injuries and was listed in fair condition Monday night at Providence, a hospital nursing supervisor said. Michael Williams, 17, was a passenger in the back seat of Ellis' car. He also suffered several injuries and was listed Monday night in critical condition in Providence's intensive-care unit, the supervisor said. Carlisi was injured, and he was treated at Providence and released before he was arrested, police said. Twelve-year-old Skye Thompson, who was a passenger in Carlisi's pickup, also was injured.
