Waterman, 89, passed away January 5, 2016 in Medford, Ore. He was born March 19, 1926 in Santa Ana, Calif. Following his schooling, Jim entered the U.S. Navy, and served in WWII. Jim married Judi Waterman in Van Nuys, Calif. In 1964 the couple moved to Central Point, Ore. He retired as the Fire Captain of Jackson Co. Fire District 3. Jim enjoyed collecting Hot Wheels, model planes, sports cards, and war artifacts. He was a member of the local Car Club in Medford. He was also the manager of Buckets Big Sticks Softball team in Medford, Ore. He is survived by his son, Steve Waterman; his daughters, Debbie Beckers, Karen Murphy, Lisa Cochran, and Lori Waterman; his sister, Doris Fellows, his brother, Carl Best; his grandchildren, Brandon, Shane, Kourtney, and Adrianna; and his great-grandson, Dayton. He was preceded in death by his wife, Judi in 1999. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 16, 2016 at the Conger Morris Central Point Chapel. Chaplain Mari Schuman will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
