A 40-year-old Medford woman had to be airlifted Thursday after she fell 100 feet at a popular recreation spot in Douglas County. Laura Greenley fell near Toketee Falls at 3:20 p.m., according to a news release from Oregon State Police. Greenley had ventured past the safety fencing along the trail and “tried to hike down to the falls,” police said At about 7 p.m., rescue crews from Douglas County Fire District No. 2 were able to bring the woman back up to the trail. They transferred her to a crew from Bay Cities Ambulance, who then transported her to a Lifeflight helicopter. She has since been transported to Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center, where she is listed in fair condition, according to Asante spokeswoman Lauren Van Sickle.
