Eugene Generals edge Spartans in overtime Nov 07, 2010 12:00 AM A A EUGENE — Despite taking an early three-goal lead, the Southern Oregon Spartans hockey team could not quite finish the job in a 5-4 overtime loss to the Eugene Generals on Saturday. Tim Munoz and Dario Torres scored in the first period and Greg Evans netted a third goal in the second period for Southern Oregon, which fell to 8-6 in NORPAC play. Eugene's Sean Park and Jordan Blake-Jones responded with scores in the second period. Justin Huelsman tied things up on a shorthanded goal before Dane Irving scored for Southern Oregon in the third and final period. After Patrick Moodie tied the contest, Patrick Moodie slapped in the game-winner with 2:02 left in overtime for the Generals, who improved to 7-8. Southern Oregon outshot Eugene, 47-40.
