Edwards fuels Cascade past Yoncalla WHITE CITY -- Bryan Edwards took some ribbing from his Cascade Christian High teammates last week when he made two outs in one inning and was in the on-deck circle when the third out was made. Edwards had the last laugh on Monday. The junior pitcher limited Yoncalla to two hits and had a double and a triple in the same inning as the Challengers catapulted to a 19-1 victory over the Eagles at the V.A. Domiciliary. "No one was kidding Bryan today," Cascade Christian coach John Bruce said. "He had quite a game." The Challengers, now 6-0 on the season, exploded for eight runs in the first inning and 11 more in the second when Edwards stroked two hits. The 6-foot-1, 210-pound Edwards also registered two RBIs and scored three times. Blake McCormick chipped in with a single, double and three RBIs for Cascade. On the mound, Edwards struck out six and walked one in improving his record to 3-0. The Challengers open play in the Southern Cascade League Saturday against Butte Falls at the V.A. Domiciliary. "We've got guys who can hit and move," Bruce said. "This is the best group of athletes we've had."
