Does that work the same for us in Medford? — Sam C., Medford It certainly works for you, Sam, if you shop at the North Medford Fred Meyer. The ClickList service began last month, with shoppers filling out their list online and picking up the bagged goods the next day. Instead of meandering up one aisle, trying to find powdered parsley, pine nuts and pesto, you can spend an extra half-hour at the gym while the professionals snag the goods for you. Dawn Peris, the local ClickList manager, says the service has been steadily catching on, especially among moms with kids. When you're ready to pick up the groceries (Sorry, no electronics, apparel or home improvement items are available) drive to one of the nine marked ClickList spaces, call the posted number and provide your stall number, and the bagged goods will be brought to your car. Coupons can either be applied online or at the store. Payment is by a swipe of the credit card or debit card, and you're good to go, usually within five minutes. The downside, however, is that you won't have those 20-minute conversations with old friends you haven't seen in months by the meat counter. If you want to do that, make some friends who shop at the South Medford Freddy's, where the service isn't yet available. There is no charge for the first three pick-ups for those with a Fred Meyer rewards card, with a $4.95 fee tacked on thereafter. Orders entered by midnight the previous day are available from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. the next day, with the service available as early as 7 a.m. beginning Sept. 11. — Send questions to “Since You Asked,” Mail Tribune Newsroom, P.O.
