Important among which will be the date of the initial public appearance. The practices have been well attended and already a vast improvement is very noticeable. The members are anxiously waiting to make their debut before the public under the new bandmaster, when they promise to provide a real surprise. Professor Rowland is satisfied with the progress that has been made by the band during the short period he has been in charge, and expects the boys will give a good account of themselves in their first program. However, he states, that there must be at least two more good practices, or possibly three before the first concert. Through the generosity of Emil Mohr the future meetings will be held in the old church at the rear of the Medford hotel. 'PEP' MAKES BOW TO THE PUBLIC "Pep," the new Medford drink combination of apple and loganberry juice, was placed on the market today by the Rogue River Canning company and is meeting with a cordial reception, which bespeaks a steady sale for the future and the utilization of local products on a large scale. "Pep" combines the delicious flavor of the loganberry with that of fresh apple cider, and strikes a responsive chord in the thirsty. Of all the substitutes for the concoctions of old King Booze now banished from Oregon in disgrace, "Pep" easily leads. Of delightful flavor, pleasing and refreshing to the system, it is destined to contribute materially to the joy of living. LOCAL AND PERSONAL Three lumber trains passed south through this city yesterday, directing the attention of local capitalists to the fact that billions of feet of merchantable timber is decaying in this southern Oregon district. Jackson county with its forests of high-grade timber, is without a sawmill of much consequence.
