He was born on May 8, 1937 in Logan, Kans. to Hazel and Clarence Swearingen. Allen was an Oregonian by heart, he attended Jacksonville HS and then Oregon State University in Eugene. In 1955 enlisted in the Air Force and spent three years in Tachikawa , Japan. He often spoke very fondly of his time in Japan. Allen was a people loving person and often the life of the party. He was a cowboy at heart enjoying the outdoors, horseback riding, fishing and fixing things. He often spoke about moving back to Oregon once retired. Though at the same time he never saw himself retiring with his passion for entrepreneurship. Allen was always involved in church activities, he loved to volunteer and help people. He was a president of a Lutheran Church in Japan during his air force days and then involved in the Presbyterian church in the later days of his life. Allen is survived by his wife and sister. Allen’s final resting place will be at the Eagle Point National Cemetery, 2763 Riley Road, Eagle Point, OR. His interrment will take place at 1 p.m May 20th.
