Fire rips through Jacksonville house Sunday Oct 22, 2017 at 3:32 PM Oct 22, 2017 at 8:24 PM A wood stove may have ignited a fire that destroyed much of a 565 Grove Street house in Jacksonville at 2 a.m. Sunday, according to fire officials. The owner had left around midnight after tending his wood stove and returned later to find his house on fire, prompting him to attempt to extinguish it, fire officials said. Jacksonville fire crews responded to the scene along with two engines, and an aerial rig from Medford Fire-Rescue. Fire District No. 3 also responded to the blaze. Christopher Arnold, spokesman for Jacksonville Fire, said, "There were pretty substantial losses to the residence." However, no injuries were reported, he said. — Damian Mann
