State reports 138 new cases of COVID-19 Updated: Jun 27, 2021 06:02 PM A A Jackson County reported five new confirmed and presumptive positive cases of COVID-19 Sunday, raising the local total to 11,614 cases with 147 fatalities since the pandemic started. The state reported 138 new confirmed and presumptive positive cases, bringing the statewide total to 208,136 cases with 2,763 fatalities to date. In all, 143 patients are hospitalized with the virus and 38 are in intensive care. The Oregon Health Authority reported 5,476 new doses of COVID-19 vaccines administered over the weekend. A total of 4,368,487 complete doses of vaccines have been administered in Oregon. The state nears a 70% vaccinated population goal with 69.1% of eligible adults vaccinated as of Sunday. Eight counties have passed a goal to vaccinate at least 65% of the county population. In Jackson County, 23,337 more people over the age of 16 must obtain a vaccine to reach the goal.
