45 filthy dogs taken from woman; 32 euthanized Jackson County animal control officers have taken 45 dogs from a White City woman after neighbors complained and officers found the dogs in filthy condition. The dogs at 15384 Shiloh Road were found covered in feces and frightened of humans. Thirty-two of the dogs were found unsuitable for adoption and were euthanized; the remaining 13 were still being evaluated Tuesday. The dogs' owner, Bonita Jones, surrendered the animals to county custody; she still has about 25 dogs. Gary Stevens of Jackson County Environmental Health said in a statement that Jones' husband died three weeks ago. "We are working with Ms. Jones to help improve her situation. Our hope is that she can pull her life together and care for the dogs still in her custody," Stevens said. The county has given Jones two weeks to license the dogs, find new homes for them or release them to the county. Mail Tribune Copyright The Mail Tribune 1999, Medford, Oregon USA
