Raymond Clark Green, 42, described as a Medford transient in jail records, remained in the Jackson County Jail without bail Friday on multiple charges, including manufacture and possession of a destructive device, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, interfering with police, resisting arrest and a rash of probation violations.  Green was booked at 9:49 a.m. Sometime before that, Medford police received reports of a man sitting in a vehicle parked behind an abandoned home in the 1100 block of West Ninth Street. Witnesses said Green had been wiping down the vehicle's interior as though he were trying to erase fingerprints. When an officer arrived, Green walked away. The officer asked his name, and Green reportedly gave a false one. He ran off when another officer arrived on scene, Medford police said. Both officers gave chase and caught him. Green scuffled with the officers, but was eventually subdued with a stun gun before he was arrested, police said. Police said they found a lightbulb housing a small amount of fuel and a wick inside the car. The vehicle also turned out to be stolen, though from where was not immediately available. Investigators said Green likely is not tied to the recent string of arsons that damaged dozens of abandoned homes across west Medford earlier this year. Green pleaded no contest to charges of first-degree burglary and unlawful use of a weapon in September, court records show. Reach reporter Ryan Pfeil at 541-776-4468 or [email protected] .
