Horn leads Eagle Point to win EAGLE POINT � Greg Horn�s fifth-inning sacrifice fly to left field scored Jason Dunbar with what proved to be the winning run as Eagle Point picked up an 8-7 win in the second game of a non-conference doubleheader split with Souther Albany on Tuesday. The Eagles were held hitless in the five-inning opener, dropping a 13-0 decision. Sophomore Tyson Nelson went the distance for his first varsity win as the Eagles (2-5) outlasted the Rebels in the nightcap. Horn finished with two RBIs and scored two runs, while Ryan Garrett had two hits, drove in two runs and scored another. In Game 1, South Albany�s 6-foot-3 right-hander Kevin Heim struck out four and walked one en route to a five-inning no-hitter. Heim added three hits, two RBIs and scored a run, while Adam Hackstedt was 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Stephenson allowed five hits in earning his first win of the season, and also had a double. Trevor Henshaw also doubled in Game 2 for Butte Falls (3-2). Andrew Rangel pitched a no-hitter with 12 strikeouts to win the five-inning opener as the Loggers struggled against the first left-hander they�ve seen this year. Jeremy Zink added two doubles and two RBIs for UVC, while Joey Laramie went 2-for-3 and Rangel was 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Coe struck out seven, walked two and allowed only Jessica Chisolm�s third-inning base hit. North settled the issue in the fourth inning, scoring five runs on seven hits. Coe drove in the first run then Britney Hillyer smacked a two-run triple to left field to make it 3-0. Amy Allen and Brandi Paxton also had RBIs in the outburst. Coe finished with three hits in four at-bats, while Beth Morrell went 2-for-4. North Medford�s second game, against South Salem, was rained out. The victory was the third for South Medford in seven non-conference games as the Panthers took advantage of nine walks and scored in each inning but the third. The scheduled doubleheader was shortened to one game due to rain. The Grizzlies broke open a 1-1 tie with seven runs in the sixth inning, capitalizing on three hits and three West Albany errors.
