Just curious: How much did they raise? — Leslie C., Ashland For Leslie and everyone else who sat six-deep in line at the coffee stand on Friday: Your wait was worth it. The 13 Human Bean locations in Jackson and Josephine counties raised $34,519.19 for hurricane victims through coffee sales and donations, said Justin Woodside, marketing director for the company. "One of the customers paid $10 for a cup of coffee, then it went to $20 and then $50," Woodside said. "We only expected to raise $20,000 to $22,000, but we smashed through that. I think a lot of people came in just to donate." Advertisement That would be the equivalent of more than 13,800 cups of coffee at $2.50 a pop, although many donors exceeded the basic fare, Woodside said. Marj Jameson, executive director of the Rogue Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross, confirmed that she accepted Human Bean’s check on Tuesday.
