CCC softball playoffs pushed to Saturday-Sunday By SOU Sports Information May 04, 2017 12:00 AM A A Expected rain in the Salem area has forced the Cascade Conference Softball Tournament schedule to be pushed back a day. Originally scheduled for a Friday start, second-seeded and 20th-ranked Southern Oregon will now open at 4:30 p.m. Saturday against either third-seeded Oregon Tech or sixth-seeded British Columbia. If the Raiders win, they'll play at 2 p.m. Sunday; if they lose, they'll play an elimination game at 11:30 a.m. Sunday. All games will be played at Corban University's Warrior Field. The six-team tourney uses a double-elimination format. The champion will get the CCC's second automatic bid to the NAIA Tournament – unless regular-season champ Corban wins it, in which case the bid will go to the tournament runner-up. A complete schedule is below and a preview will be published Thursday. If necessary, Tuesday will be used as a makeup day. SOU fundraising The annual Raider Club Scholarship Dinner and Auction brought in nearly $100,000 to Southern Oregon University athletics last Thursday night. Over 190 supporters of Raider athletics filled the Rogue River Room on the SOU campus and helped raise over $63,000 in the scholarship ask alone. The evening also featured a silent auction, a live auction and dinner by Beasy's On The Creek, which donated over half the cost of the dinner. Combined with the annual Lithia/Raider Club Golf Shootout, the athletic department has raised over $500,000 for scholarships for SOU student-athletes this past year.
