The big movies opening at theaters this week are “Exodus: Gods and Kings,” a PG-13 movie about Moses directed by Ridley Scott and starring Christian Bale, Joel Edgerton, Ben Kingsley and Sigourney Weaver; and “Top Five,” an R comedy that stars Chris Rock (and was directed by him), Rosario Dawson, Gabrielle Union and Kevin Hart. 2. Sunday is the beginning of the Audubon Society’s Christmas Bird Count. The annual event lets anyone get involved in tracking birds across the Americas. From Sunday until Jan. 5, you’re encouraged to keep track of what birds you see, and it makes a great family event. For more information, go to http://birds.audubon.org/christmas-bird-count . 3. Friday is a whimsically fun day: National Ugly Christmas Sweater Day. Dig through your closets and find the ugliest sweater you can, and don it for the day! You could also host a party and award prizes to those wearing the ugliest sweaters. 4. Still don’t have all your holiday shopping done? You might want to hit the stores this weekend - many sales will be even better now than they were on Black Friday. Check the newspaper for sales and coupons. 5. If you’re looking for a cheap way to entertain your family, there’s nothing better than driving around to look at Christmas lights. Check the newspaper for a guide to lights, or just drive and enjoy!
