People in Business: Jan. 20 John LaVoie Saturday Jan 20, 2018 at 12:01 AM People's Bank of Commerce has named John LaVoie vice president and business development officer for Jackson and Josephine counties. LaVoie has more than 13 years of experience in the financial services industry. He most recently worked as vice president and business relationship manager for Umpqua Bank in Medford. Before banking, he was an owner and operator of several businesses in Oregon and Minnesota. He is a board member of the Britt Music Festivals and previously served on the Craterian Theater, Medford/Jackson County Chamber and Medford Cruise Association boards. Gerald Jakabosky has joined Re/MAX Integrity’s office on Heathrow Way in Medford. He earned an economics degree and minored in business administration at the University of Oregon. She was previously business development manager at Star Body Works & Star 24-Hour Towing. Sara Collins and Matthew Rowan have opened the law firm Collins Rowan in Medford. The firm focuses on commercial, criminal, family and juvenile litigation, while also providing general business, mergers and acquisitions, and real estate transaction legal services. Collins is graduate of the University of Oregon School of Law and has been practicing law since 2001. Beginning in May 2010, she worked for Southern Oregon Public. Rowan has been practicing law since 2010. He is a University of Oregon School of Law graduate, worked as a public defender and recently represented Lithia Motors as its corporate counsel. The Springs Living has named Travis Staples executive director for The Springs at Veranda Park, a retirement community serving seniors with independent and assisted-living options. Staples is a licensed Nursing Home Administrator in Oregon and California, he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and a certificate of applied finance and economics at Southern Oregon University. More recently, Staples earned senior living executive certification in gerontology from the University of Southern California. Redemption Ridge has named Karen Holt executive director. Holt combines 11 years in human resource management and consulting with her 15 years of previous experience in nonprofit social services with organizations such as Kids Health Connection and Community Works. She has more than two decades of experience developing and delivering programs for individuals, children and families. Holt earned a bachelor’s degree in business management from Northwest Christian University, a master's in management from Southern Oregon University and her senior professional human resources credential. Todd Fryer has joined U.S. Bank as vice president and relationship manager for Southern Oregon and Northern California. He is based at the downtown U.S. Bank Medford office. Fryer has more than 19 years of industry experience, including six years with KeyBank and five years with Umpqua Bank. Fryer earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Southern Oregon University and is a graduate of the Pacific Coast Banking School. He is a volunteer board member for the Risk Management Association. Interior Office Concepts named Eric Patterson vice president. Patterson brings more than 30 years of experience from automotive design and commercial construction industries. Most recently, he was construction director for Lithia Motors. Kelsy Ausland, president of Ausland Group, has been listed a “Phenom” by the Daily Journal of Commerce of Oregon as part of its “Phenoms & Icons” awards program recognizing leaders within the architecture, engineering, and construction industry in the Pacific Northwest. Nathan Wecker has joined Advantage Dental Clinic on Lazy Creek Drive in Medford. He earned his medical dentistry degree from Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland. His undergraduate studies were at Weber State University and Brigham Young University. Southern Oregon Veterinary Specialty Center in Central Point has added three doctors to its large emergency and specialty hospital. Caitlin Lacey is an emergency veterinarian and has experience with immediate diagnostics and stabilization during acute trauma. Previously, Lacey worked at Happy Valley Veterinary Hospital and completed an Emergency and Critical Care Internship at Dove Lewis Emergency Animal Hospital in Portland. She earned degrees from Notre Dame of Maryland University, Ohio State University, and in veterinary medicine from Cornell University. Dana Hoyt worked as a certified veterinary technician in Klamath Falls for seven years after obtaining a bachelor's animal science/agricultural business and management at Oregon State University. She later interned at VCA Sacramento Animal Medical Group. For the past 10 years, she has been at Jackson Animal Hospital. Allison Foster joins SOVSC as the only veterinary dermatologist in Southern Oregon. She earned a veterinary medicine degree from Louisiana State University School. She worked as a general practitioner in Albuquerque, New Mexico, later completed a small animal medicine and surgery rotating internship at VCA Veterinary Care Animal Hospital and Referral Center, and then a three-year dermatology residency at both Iowa State University and the University of Tennessee.
