Fake fair ticket scheme forces recall in Jo County GRANTS PASS � Josephine County Fair organizers are asking for their patrons� patience following the discovery of a counterfeit sales scheme. According to the Josephine County Sheriff�s Department, someone is selling counterfeit season tickets to the fair. It was not immediately known Friday how the scheme began:however, sheriff�s deputies are currently investigating, and fair organizers say they plan to recall every legitimate ticket already sold. Officials announced Friday that anyone with a legitimate pass must exchange it for a new one to gain entry to the fair. The new tickets will be available Monday at the fairgrounds office in Grants Pass. To ensure that replacement tickets go to only those patrons who purchased an original ticket, fair organizers will check the serial numbers on the stubs against their sales records. The fair office and participating banks have stopped selling season tickets until the new admission slips are available. Advance sales will continue through Friday at participating banks and until Aug. 6 at the fairgrounds office, 1451 Fairgrounds Road, Grants Pass. The Josephine County Fair will be held Aug. 15-19.
