Thomas GordonHess House is one stop on the Jacksonville Boosters' home and garden tours. ▲ --> Home and Garden Tour Visit historic homes and buildings in Jacksonville from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, May 5-6. This docent-guided tour includes three historic homes, two gardens and one modern home. Also, step back in time and take a self-guided tour through three historic churches and a rectory. Hear live music by Irish folk duo Kayely from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and folk music by singer, songwriter and guitarist Bob Haworth from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday outside city hall. On Sunday, Marshall Stack will perform from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Minstrel Streams will perform from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. The Jacksonville trolley is available to all sites on the tour. Tickets for the tour are $20 in advance — include three complimentary tastings at Daisy Creek Winery — and can be purchased at jacksonvilleboosters.org or at the historic Jackson County Courthouse, 206 N. Fifth St. Call 541-899-1666. Garden Tour North Mountain Park offers free tours of its demonstration gardens at 9:30 a.m. the second Wednesday of the month through August. Learn about herb, heirloom and butterfly gardens during the one-hour tours. Admission is free, but registration is required. See ashland.or.us or call 541-488-6606. Heirloom Tomato Sale The Talent Historical Society will sell Heirloom Talent Tomatoes from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 12, at the Talent Historical Society Museum, 105 N. Market Street, Talent. Call 541-512-8838. Spring Plant Sale The Rogue River Garden Club will hold a plant sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 12, at the Rogue River Civic Club, 135 Oak St., Rogue River. Perennials, trees, vegetable starts, herbs and more will be available for purchase. Also look for seeds, a bake sale, used gardening books and raffle baskets. Garden Plant Sale The Jacksonville Garden club will host its annual Spring Sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 12, near the post office on Oregon Street in downtown Jacksonville. The sale will feature fresh-cut flower bouquets arranged by club members, hanging baskets and perennial plants. Homemade baked goods and treats also will be available. Proceeds will provide scholarships to local students and support beautification projects at Peter Britt Garden, the Jacksonville Post Office and the Jacksonville Community Center. Call 541-702-2080. North Valley Soroptimist Garden Tour Take a self-guided tour through six distinct and lovely gardens from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 19, in Central Point and Jacksonville. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. the day of the tours at Schoolhaus Brewhaus, 525 Bigham Knoll Drive, Jacksonville. Visitors will receive a colorful booklet with descriptions and photos of each garden and a map of the tour. The garden tour is a fundraiser for North Valley Soroptimist, and proceeds benefit women of all ages in the region. Call 541-890-7490.
