Thursday morning fire damages Medford home Thursday Oct 26, 2017 at 10:28 AM Oct 26, 2017 at 11:59 AM Ryan Pfeil Mail Tribune @RyanPfeil A Thursday morning garage fire at a home just west of the Medford airport damaged the garage and attic area and caused heat damage to the house, but no one was hurt. The fire was reported at 1:37 a.m. at 3466 Table Rock Road. Just prior to the report, law enforcement had been called to the location after the home's residents reported a prowler banging on their front door, fire officials said. "It was people trying to warn them," Medford Fire-Rescue Deputy Chief Justin Bates said. Medford Fire-Rescue responded with two engines and a ladder truck, assisted by two engines from Jackson County Fire District No. 3. "The garage was really fully involved when we got there," Bates said. Firefighters had the blaze knocked down within 10 minutes, but stayed on scene to chase hot spots. "It just took a long time to overhaul," said Medford Battalion Chief Erin Sawall. The flames caused about $60,000 worth of damage. The American Red Cross assisted in finding temporary placement for two of the home's residents, Sawall said. The cause of the fire is still undetermined, but investigators believe it was accidental in nature.
