Wright was second at the district meet to Kevin Pellegrino — who shared the conference honor with him — then placed seventh at state last Saturday. His time of 15:35 was the fastest time ever by an Ashland runner. On the girls all-conference team, state champion Katie Leary of Klamath Union was runner of the year, and the Pelicans’ Rob Coffman was coach of the year. Advertisement Danielle Jordan of North Medford and Kendel Nelson of Crater, who finished third and fourth at state, respectivley, were also on the first team.
