Oregon Road Conditions & Cams Email Story to a Friend February 14, 2006 David Wayne Ruth Man ditched meth court date EDITOR’S NOTE: Crime Stoppers of Southern Oregon, in cooperation with the Mail Tribune and KTVL Channel 10, is participating in "Meth Watch," a program intended to combat the manufacture and sales of methamphetamine in Southern Oregon. Each week, Meth Watch will focus on a person wanted by Jackson or Josephine county law-enforcement agencies for delivery and/or manufacture of methamphetamine. David Wayne Ruth is wanted by Medford police and the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department for failure to appear in Jackson County Circuit Court on charges of manufacturing, delivering and possessing methamphetamine. He is also wanted by Medford police on charges of first-degree theft and forgery. Ruth was indicted in November 2003 but failed to appear at trial. The sheriff’s department case charges Ruth with being a felon in possession of a firearm. He was indicted in May 2004, and a warrant was issued when he didn’t make a scheduled pre-trial hearing. Total bail on both warrants is $16,000. Ruth is described as a 33- year-old white man, standing 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing about 150 pounds. He has blond hair, brown eyes, pierced ears, several scars and missing teeth and pockmarks on his face. The phrase "smile now, cry later" is tattooed on his right shoulder. The picture shown in today’s newspaper was taken in October. Those who have seen Ruth or have information of his whereabouts are asked to contact Crime Stoppers of Southern Oregon at 800-3-DETECT (800-333-8328) and refer to case MT/MW-196. Crime Stoppers will pay a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest in this case or any other unsolved criminal activity. Callers can remain anonymous.
