Police are looking for a white, 1999 Lincoln Town Car with Oregon license plate ZVE 211, in connection with the shooting. It is believed that a group of three or four black men left the area of Palm Street and Rose Avenue in the car following the shooting, which took place at about 9 p.m. Wednesday. Police said three girls, all aged 15 or 16, were walking near the intersection of Palm and Rose when six shots from a 9 mm handgun were fired in their direction. One bullet hit a tree, while another struck a home on the southwest corner of Palm and Rose. A third bullet hit the gas meter at that home. The registered owner of the Lincoln lives in the 600 block of West Second Street. Police went to the home Thursday morning and interviewed four people, but made no arrests in connection with the shooting. Police said the shooters will likely face first-degree assault charges.
