Jose Alberto Banda-Vazquez, 54, allegedly set a strategically placed mirror inside a basket at a Central Point Goodwill store before placing the basket near a shopper's feet just before 4:30 p.m., according to Central Point police. "It's definitely not common in our area at all," Central Point police volunteer coordinator Nikki Petersen said of the alleged behavior. The victim told police she saw Banda-Vazquez trying to sneak the basket beside her, noticed that the mirror could see up her skirt and confronted Banda-Vazquez, who then ran from the store in the 1200 block of Plaza Boulevard. He was found several blocks away and arrested on a misdemeanor charge of second-degree invasion of personal privacy. Banda-Vazquez was booked in the Jackson County Jail Thursday evening and has been released, jail records show. No charges have been filed yet in the case, according to court records. Records show that Banda-Vazquez had faced a felony second-degree burglary charge in 2007 before pleading guilty to a misdemeanor.
